The Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI), today announced that it will again provide funding to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs through its Innovation Generation grants. The annual program has distributed more than $25.5 million in grants since 2007 and hundreds of Motorola Solutions employees volunteer with grantees every year. In 2012, programs that received Innovation Generation grants will provide more than 170,000 teachers and students with high-quality STEM education.

Interested organizations can apply online through the Motorola Solutions Foundation website. The application deadline is March 29, 2013, and the awards will be announced in June 2013.

Eligible organizations can apply for two categories of grants:

         Local Impact Grants

  • Grants will target innovative and hands-on STEM education programs.
  • Requests must be between $15,000 and $60,000 for projects that start after June 2013.

            National Partnership Grants

  • Grants will support large-scale, multi-regional STEM education programs that impact at least 150 primary participants.
  • The maximum request for National Partnership Grants is $250,000 and the minimum request is $50,000.
  • Projects must start after June 2013 and may last up to two years.

KEY FACTS
