/PRNewswire/ - AIAG, a not-for-profit, member-supported organization that works with a wide range of manufacturing companies and service providers to help them operate at peak performance, announced that Robert L. Corcoran, the president and chairman of the GE Foundation, will give the keynote address at AIAG's two-day summit on corporate responsibility.

The summit, to be held March 6-7 at the Michigan State University Management Education Center in Troy, Mich., will provide companies with vital information on the issues we face today, tomorrow and beyond. Topics include conflict minerals; environmental and water sustainability; the connection between communications and corporate responsibility; and global working conditions.

"The new business reality is that companies of all sizes must now concern themselves with managing, what John Elkington referred to, as the 'triple bottom line.' Namely: people, the planet and profitability in all of the countries in which they manufacture or source products," said J. Scot Sharland, executive director at AIAG. "This summit offers an excellent opportunity for companies across a wide range of industries to come together for interactive sessions and panel discussions, and will help take their CR efforts to the next level. We are honored to have Mr. Corcoran, who is so well-known for his vision and leadership as head of the GE Foundation, as our keynote speaker."

The GE Foundation is the philanthropic organization of the General Electric Co. In coordination with its partners, it supports U.S. and international education, developing health globally, the environment, public policy, human rights and disaster relief.

In addition to the keynote address, the AIAG Corporate Responsibility Summit also will feature half-day training sessions that review corporate responsibility strategies for new and advanced practitioners, OEM and Tier 1 panel discussions and a networking and awards reception to honor individuals who made an impact of excellence.
