/PRNewswire/ - Peabody Energy (NYSE: BTU) today was honored as "Employer of the Year" by AAIM Employers' Association (EA), one of the nation's largest employers' associations. The award recognizes great employers that sustain outstanding working environments, inclusive and collaborative cultures and significant career development opportunities. Three honors were presented based on organizational size, with Peabody earning recognition in the major employer category. The award was presented during a ceremony at the association's annual Strategic Directions Conference in St. Louis.

Founded in 1898, the AAIM Employers' Group or AAIM EA is an association of over 1,600 member organizations in the St. Louis region and throughout Illinois. The AAIM Employers' Group helps members become stronger employers by assisting them in developing and managing their people and processes by offering peer networking opportunities, business research information, HR and management consulting, performance improvement and professional training and development.
