REC announced today that it is an event sponsor and a speaker at Solar Power International (SPI) in Dallas, Texas this week. REC executives are on hand at booth 3229 to discuss its industry leading technology as well as solar industry trends including new markets for solar and expectations for 2012.

"REC is thrilled to a part of the conversation at SPI, one that is sure to involve the vast growth and change across the industry as 2011 comes to a close and 2012 begins," said Marius Kroksjø, managing director Americas at REC Solar US.

Kroksjø is speaking at the Joint Forces for Solar (JF4S) panel to discuss the role of Texas in the U.S. solar market.

"Texas is a state primed with opportunity for PV, not only for its size, but its wealth of natural resources. We’ve seen wind power’s strength and widespread acceptance, and the potential is there for an exciting and robust solar industry," said Kroksjø.

Kroksjø is joined on the Joint Forces for Solar panel by Helen Park, director of sales at Bosch Solar Energy; David Devir, director of product management at KACO new energy; Nick Chaset, director of market development and government affairs at Q-Cells North America; Chet Boortz, chief executive officer at SES21USA LLC; and Ed Grover, strategic alliance manager at Schletter Inc. The panel is scheduled for Tues. Oct. 18, 2011 from 8 am to 10:30 am at the W Dallas Victory Hotel.

JF4S is a global organization drawing from all levels of the solar value chain which promotes the exchange of grass-roots knowledge and know-how to a global dimension and international best practices back to local markets. By sparking conversations between global stakeholders and local installers, JF4S offers a platform for ideas, opinions and expertise to be shared in order to ultimately strengthen the industry and drive the common goal of sustainable growth of the solar industry.

REC Group is a gold-level sponsor of the Block Party at Gilley’s Dallas honky-tonk, which will feature Nashville artist Phil Vassar. REC will also sponsor the performance of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders at this event. This annual networking event brings a close to the first day of the exhibition and conference.
