Produced by Sustainable Life Media, in partnership with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania’s IGEL (Initiative for Global Environment Leadership), this one-day conference will convene top sustainability and business leaders from across the country. Both financial and non-financial professionals will come together to explore the evolution of work taking place on the business metrics used to value, measure, manage, and help connect financial, environmental and social impacts. Groundbreaking examples and case studies will be shared as these businesses and thought leaders collaborate on issues such as bringing eco-systems services on to the balance sheet, integrating sustainability and financial analysis into investor reporting, and modeling shared value in industry collaboration.

“There is a significant shift taking place in the world today in our understanding of the elements that are going to impact the long term, said KoAnn Vikoren Skrzyniarz, CEO of Sustainable Life Media (SLM). “Metrics are generally set up to measure those elements that are perceived to matter to business, however, businesses leaders today recognize that companies need a fresh approach to defining value creation and how that value is measured and accounted for going forward. We’re seeing both financial and non-financial sustainability leaders from companies like Unilever, Coca-Cola, Dannon, Kendall Jackson, Deloitte, DirectTV, and more, registering to attend this event because they recognize the importance of this issue and what it means for their business,” KoAnn continued.

The collaborative setting of this conference will enable attendees to engage with an experienced peer group and explore emerging solutions. To spur the conversation, SLM has pulled together top business and thought leaders who are actively working on new ways to account for the tangible and intangible value generated by the commitment to delivering environmental and social benefit along with financial return. The day's discussion will be facilitated by 3 of the leading thinkers in this area -- Andrew Winston, Gil Friend and Paul Herman from HIP Investor. Other speakers include executives from The Dow Chemical Company, Oxfam America, The Nature Conservancy, Hess Corporation, Campbell Soup, SAP, and others.

Executives interested in understanding the critical role that new metrics play in formulating and implementing a sustainability strategy should plan to attend this event. This deeper knowledge of metrics and models that companies must use today to drive successful sustainability strategy as well as improved financial performance is imperative to succeed.
