Toronto founded the Wonderful Wacky Women organization ten years ago. The Redneck Riviera chapter, founded in 2009 in Perdido Key, has grown to be the largest of 73 chapters across the United States and will host the weeklong event. A beach day, trips to local attractions, shopping excursions, a U.S. Navy Blue Angels air show, dining at local hot spots and parties at the world famous Flora-Bama are some of the week's activities. On Saturday, Oct. 29, the week will conclude with the third annual "Making a Difference" Four Mile Walk/Run to support ovarian cancer research, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Flora-Bama, 17401 Perdido Key Dr.

Travel incentives continue to be announced at the Perdido Key Visitor Center's website. The Perdido Key Chamber and Visitor Center recently gave new and returning Perdido Key travelers $100 American Express gift cards, up to $300, for booking their stay at participating condominiums or resorts in Perdido Key.
