Anvil Knitwear is a proud sponsor of Farm Aid 2011 whose mission is to build a vibrant family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. The concert will feature six exclusive Farm Aid designs on Anvil Knitwear t-shirts featuring Texas cotton from organic and transitional growers.
This year’s concert in Kansas City, Kan., at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on Aug. 13, will feature Farm Aid t-shirts with Anvil’s Shirt Scan™ technology that allows concertgoers to view exclusive Farm Aid content, including documentary footage of Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews.
“Our partnership with Anvil goes far beyond t-shirts,” said Glenda Yoder, Associate Director of Farm Aid. “It’s about creating a larger community that honors family farmers and the contributions they make as organic growers, to the soil and to our health.”
This year, Anvil’s presence at Farm Aid 2011 will be focused on three activities:

“We continue to see an increase in demand for clothing made from organic cotton and other sustainable materials and we believe that organic farming can provide a more profitable and healthy model for US family farms and their surrounding communities,” said Caterina Conti, Anvil’s Executive Vice President. “Farm Aid’s Farmer Resource Network and their support of organic farming practices is consistent with Anvil’s commitment to double the amount of acreage dedicated to organic cotton production.”

About Farm Aid
Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews host an annual concert to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. Since 1985, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised more than $39 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms.
