ENR 'Top 100' environmental consulting and management firm, Roux Associates, Inc., opened a new office at San Francisco's Embarcadero Center. The office focuses on specialized areas of environmental consulting in which Roux has a strong presence nationwide: environmental site assessment and remediation, particularly brownfields; litigation support/expert testimony; and insurance claim evaluations. Groundwater cleanups and regulatory compliance management are also conducted by environmental staff at the office.

Three principal-level registered State of California Professional Geologists are spearheading the launch of the office's operations: David G. Dixon, P.G., Principal Geologist (formerly of Treadwell & Rollo), Michael B. Marsden, P.G., C.Hg., Principal Hydrogeologist (formerly of Johnson Wright), and Mauricio H. Escobar, P.G., Principal Geologist (formerly of ENVIRON).

Mr. Dixon is a 23-year industry veteran and expert in brownfields redevelopment. A frequent organizer, moderator, and panelist at national brownfields conferences throughout the nation, Mr. Dixon advises on brownfield grant applications, Phoenix Award applications, and brownfields grant management. He was project manager for the 2008 EPA Region 9 Phoenix Award (i.e., the Stockton Event Center) and is on the Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) for the former Hamilton Air Base in Novato, California.

Mr. Marsden, a 23-year industry veteran who has managed over 20 litigation support cases, heads up the office's litigation support practice. Mr. Marsden advises clients on litigation case strategies, trial preparations, dispute resolutions, responsibility allocations, and insurance claims.

Mr. Escobar has over 15 years of experience designing and managing soil and groundwater investigations, site characterizations, and complex remediation projects, including sites in hard rock and porous media-flow aquifers.
