/PRNewswire/ - WJB Capital Group, Inc. (WJB), a privately held institutional broker-dealer and a member of the NYSE, FINRA, SIPC, and other principal exchanges, today announced that it raised nearly $1.4 million at its 3rd Annual Charity Day held on Thursday, May 12th.

Professional athletes including Julius "Dr. J" Erving and NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk, and college coaches including Jim Boeheim and Matt Doherty, joined WJB traders throughout the day, helping surpass 2010's total of $1.2 million.

"Surpassing last year's total, in what is a very difficult trading environment, is a direct reflection of the incredible amount of work and dedication that went into our charity event. I couldn't be more proud of our employees' hard work and the humbling support of our customers," said Craig Rothfeld, CEO of WJB Capital. "Thursday was a huge success in so many ways but the positive impact this year's Charity Day will have on the lives of so many people in need in by far our greatest achievement."

All eligible and approved trading commissions collected on Charity Day will be donated to the following charities:

  • Coaches vs. Cancer
  • The JEC
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • No Greater Sacrifice
  • ThanksUSA
  • National Foundation for Veteran Redeployment
  • Aish Hatorah Inc.
