/PRNewswire/ - City National Bank, headquartered in Charleston, announced today that Regional Retail Manager Barbara Phillips is one of the bank's City Cares community service award winners for 2011.

Phillips was nominated by her peers for her involvement in several organizations, most notably Carnegie Hall and the Lewisburg Downtown Business Association. As a City Cares winner, she requested that City National's $1,500 donation in her name be made fund scholarships for the Joyful Noise After School Enrichment Program, a state licensed after school program that provides homework help with a tutor, recreation, crafts and other enrichment programs for children in Kindergarten through the fifth grade.

"Barbara is making a difference in our community through the many projects she is involved in," said co-worker Heather Roques. "She not only helps sponsor events but she actually rolls up her sleeves and gets involved in projects such as the distribution of food and Christmas gifts to families in need."

Phillips and four other City Cares winners were recognized at the bank's annual meeting held on April 27, 2011 in Charleston. City National will donate $1,500 in honor of each of the five City Cares winners.
