Mother Nature Network announced today their inaugural Mixed Greens: 30 Voices in Sustainability presented by AT&T, a list of respected and authoritative Twitter feeds that are redefining the way we learn about the world around us.
Editors at MNN chose the Mixed Greens: 30 Voices in Sustainability after carefully monitoring their work on Twitter. The honorees have played a significant and unique role in sharing their insights about a more sustainable future.
The group includes thought leaders with diverse backgrounds and expertise, ranging from Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof to primatologist Jane Goodall to alternative energy guru Shai Agassi. The global voices share a common interest in the triple bottom line, a concept comprised of issues within the environment, society and the economy.
"We selected people who we felt were not only leaders in their field, but who are also pioneering the social approach to environmental responsibility and sustainability," said Hope Dlugozima, MNN Director of Community and Social Networking. "We sat down and said, 'If I didn't know anything about sustainability, who should I listen to for the unvarnished truth?' It's all about convening online insightful voices together to make it easy for visitors to see the spectrum of ideas out there."
The complete list of all 30 Voices in Sustainability will be revealed on Friday, March 25th. "Mixed Greens is a motivational and easy way for people to connect with the thought leaders who create change," said Beth Adcock Shiroishi, assistant vice president Citizenship & Sustainability, AT&T. "At AT&T, we are working to develop innovative new products and services that empower people to be more sustainable which is why we are so excited to be a part of this initiative with Mother Nature Network," added Adcock Shiroishi.
