ReMakes™ today launched a new line of eco-friendly placemats made from reclaimed billboards and movie posters. The one-of-a-kind placemats create chic table settings while reducing landfill. ReMakes™ placemats help preserve our environment and raise environmental awareness while bringing an artistic and unique look to tabletops.

The billboards that hang on the sides of large buildings are made from PVC and add up to 100 pounds of plastic to landfill when they are replaced. Remakes™ turns these billboards into durable, attractive placemats that grace your table instead of clogging landfills. Each set of four matching ReMakes™ placemats is cut from the same billboard or movie poster and hand-numbered. No two placemats or sets are the same; each features unique colors and designs.

The ReMakes™ logo that appears on each placemat integrates a QR code -- a new type of intelligent bar code -- that stimulates awareness and ongoing dialogue about ecology and our environment. When the QR code is scanned with a smartphone, it links to a ReMakes™ webpage that features a daily fact or news item about conservation, recycling or protecting the environment, as well as information about the placemat's origin.

ReMakes™ placemats are now available for sale in the US at Abe's Market (www.abesmarket.com), a leading online retailer of natural and eco-friendly consumer products. Two styles are available: Multi-color ReMakes™ sets of four matching placemats made from the same billboard, and ReMakes™ Black placemats which offer an all-black, textured eco-chic place setting alternative.
