/PRNewswire/ - Taking a slogan from Men's Wearhouse, impoverished youth sponsored through Children International, a U.S.-based humanitarian organization, "are going to like the way they look" with nearly $1 million worth of clothing donated by the leading men's retailer.
The Houston-based retailer, whose philanthropic mission is to provide appropriate clothing to youth and men seeking employment, has supplied suits, jackets, shirts and pants to youth who lack basic clothing in Children International's program areas in Ecuador, the Philippines, India, Zambia, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Children International's President and CEO Jim Cook said, "We are grateful to Men's Wearhouse for their commitment to youth as they begin to build a brighter future for themselves. Their contribution makes a world of difference to youth unable to buy suitable clothes."
Children International is distributing the clothing to male teens graduating from its youth program. According to the Office of National Statistics, more than 20 percent of today's young people ages 16 to 24 are either unemployed or underemployed. Since many of these young men in developing countries live on less than $2 day, the new suites and other will give them more confidence and help them compete on a more level playing field as they seek employment.
