BSR, a global business network and consultancy focused on sustainability, has made video highlights, session summaries, and survey results from last week's BSR Conference 2010 available free of charge at www.bsr.org/conference. The Conference, held November 2-5 in New York, brought together more than 1,100 senior business executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders from the public sector and civil society to focus on integrating sustainability into strategy and core business.

Survey Results

Results from the "BSR/GlobeScan State of Sustainable Business Poll 2010," released at the Conference, found that business leaders remain focused on sustainability despite continuing economic uncertainty. Additional findings from the survey of 377 respondents, drawn from a majority of BSR's 250 member companies, include:

  • More than eight in 10 (84 percent) are somewhat or very optimistic that global businesses will embrace CSR/sustainability as part of their core strategies and operations in the next five years.
  • Nearly all (94 percent) said that they plan to maintain or increase spending on their own CSR/sustainability programs in the year ahead.
  • Climate change tops the list of significant priorities for their companies’ CSR/sustainability efforts in the year ahead, followed by workers’ rights and human rights.
