Abbott has been recognized for its global citizenship efforts in the areas of environmental performance and online corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting on three recent rankings:

  • Abbott was named among the top 10 percent of companies on NEWSWEEK magazine's "Greenest Companies in America" list. Abbott was ranked No. 42 out of the 500 largest public U.S. companies evaluated by NEWSWEEK. The NEWSWEEK list quantifies companies' environmental footprint, policies and reputation, and is conducted in partnership with leading environmental and CSR research organizations.

  • Abbott was named to the Maplecroft Climate Innovation Index, a list of top-performing U.S. companies demonstrating excellence in climate-related innovation and carbon management. Abbott ranked No. 38 among the top 100 largest public U.S. companies evaluated by Maplecroft, a leading global risk analysis firm. The Maplecroft Climate Innovation Index rates each company against 100 performance-based criteria, including carbon emissions reductions, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, sustainable process improvements and environmental management.

  • Abbott was named to the "Lundquist CSR Online Awards Global Leaders 2010" list of the top companies for online citizenship reporting and stakeholder engagement. Abbott ranked No. 18 on the list. The Lundquist list evaluated how the world's most sustainable companies (as determined by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index) are reporting on their CSR programs and results online.
