As more employment opportunities become available to Hispanics and the population grows, Hispanics' purchasing power is expected to increase more than 500 percent by 2013.1 And according to Hispanic Business Magazine, SC Johnson is again one of the top companies for Hispanics. The company is listed at #33, moving up eight spots from last year. The Diversity Elite Top 60 list, published in the September 2010 issue of the magazine, is an annual list determined by more than 30 variables that measure companies' commitments to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Hispanics make up 14 percent of the U.S. workforce.

"It is an honor to be named to the Diversity Elite Top 60 for operating in a way that has always been fundamental to SC Johnson's culture," said Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson. "It is important that the environment at SC Johnson is one that embraces and fosters mutual respect for everyone. Different backgrounds and viewpoints strengthen our business and allow us to better understand what our consumers need."

SC Johnson has long been recognized as a great place to work, with multiple years on "Top Company" lists published by Working Mother magazine, AARP, DiversityInc and Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. To continue building an environment of mutual respect, SC Johnson has 11 business councils and employee support groups that are focused on helping people from all walks of life and backgrounds tap into their full potential, including a Hispanic Business Council.

"Diversity in the workplace becomes ever more important as the needs of our consumers shift and our consumer base changes," said Maria L. Campbell, Director of Diversity at SC Johnson. "There are 10.5 million Hispanic family households in the U.S. - a diverse culture and work environment can only make us better in the marketplace."

Other companies named to the 2010 Diversity Elite Top 60 list include McDonald's Corporation, General Mills and The Coca-Cola Company.
