Following last year's success, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and 2degrees have extended their collaboration to deliver a full program of online events during 2010 World Water Week.

Each year, at World Water Week in Stockholm, SIWI brings together experts and decision makers from leading NGOs, governments and corporations from around the world to exchange idea, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the planet’s most urgent water-related issues.

Organizations including WWF, UN-Water, UNESCO, WHO, FAO, World Water Council, International Water Association, Global Water Partnership, GTZ and Nestlé are taking part in the activities delivered by SIWI and 2degrees.

All members of 2degrees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from Stockholm via:

  • Live webinar sessions with speakers from world-leading organizations on topics including:

    • Water management and governance in a shifting climate;

    • Urban water management issues, priorities for action and planning for sustainable water systems;

    • Identification and prioritisation of cost-efficient solutions to water security;

    • Sustainable biodiversity and ecosystem management; and

    • Key challenges facing governments in their pursuit of the Millennium Development Goal targets for water and sanitation.

  • Recordings of the opening and closing plenary sessions;

  • Regular insight blogs from Marty Matlock, Area Director of the Center for Agricultural & Rural Sustainability and Professor of Biological & Agricultural Engineering at the University of Arkansas;

  • Forum discussions developed by 2degrees Water Risk & Strategy Working Group Manager, Izabela Stacewicz, from around the water cooler in Stockholm; and

  • Access to the Stockholm Water Cube - video recordings of interviews conducted in the corridors by SIWI, the IRC International Water & Sanitation Centre and Akvo.org.

2degrees believe, for all those who cannot make it to Stockholm, this is an unrivaled way to gain access to and take part in the world's leading water event for free. Anybody who wishes to attend World Water Week virtually may join 2degrees through this link:
