Rosemary Turner has been named incoming Chair of the Board of Directors for United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Ms. Turner will lead United Way's 60-member Board for a two year term.
"I am pleased to be passing the baton to Rosemary Turner to chair the Board of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania," said Carl M. Buchholz, outgoing Chair. "I've known Rosemary for many years; she's a proven leader and a results-oriented professional. Through our work together on the Board, I've witnessed her ability to build consensus and navigate through challenging issues. Moreover, I've experienced her genuine passion for the mission of United Way. We truly could not have a more qualified and committed individual to take on this role."
As Board Chair, Ms. Turner will play an important civic and philanthropic leadership role in the region. The Board of Directors has the mandate of establishing policies and direction for United Way, including setting goals for the annual fundraising campaign as well as implementing strategy and priorities for the funds invested in the community.
Rosemary Turner, a 31-year UPS veteran, is president of the UPS's Chesapeake District, directing small package operations in an area that covers all or parts of six states. Ms. Turner has an extensive background in the UPS operations. She is an expert in championing teamwork concepts and empowering people.

Ms. Turner is also affiliated with these boards: Loyola Marymount University BO Trustee, Chairman of Technology, Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, Urban League of Philadelphia Secretary, and Philadelphia Academies Ambassador for Education, and Mayors Private Sector Board.
Ms. Turner earned her bachelor's degree in Accounting at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and her Certification in Total Quality Management at Consumes River College in Sacramento. She has extensive experience in presenting before top corporate executives, major customers, and community organizations.
