Edelman, the world's largest independent communications agency, and Koelnmesse, Inc., a world-leading trade fair organizer, announce a strategic partnership today supporting the Carbon TradeEx America (Sept. 28-29, 2010), the most comprehensive event in the U.S. connecting climate policy, carbon markets, energy security, and low carbon technology.

The partnership will aim to help raise awareness and communicate three important measures around carbon:

    1. Carbon management is an integral component of a company’s overall sustainability and business strategy. Investing in environmental reduction is a way to reduce costs, redeploy liquidity and capital to lower risk investments, build a low carbon economy, support fiscal expansion and drive growth.
    2. Companies cannot choose between shareholder return and responsible conduct; nor argue over pursuing sustainability strategies versus maximum competitiveness. All are required to drive innovation, future growth and success.
    3. Carbon is moving from a technical burden to strategic business opportunity. It can create jobs, spur new technologies and spark innovation. Businesses need to manage and mitigate the risks and costs surrounding carbon now, before it is regulated.
