In today's competitive and highly dynamic solar industry environment, finding and using accurate market data is essential to making informed decisions. On Thursday, April 29th, AltaTerra Research will host the online tutorial, "U.S. Solar Market Research: How to Leverage Publicly-Available Data to Make the Right Decisions," to help participants learn how to use publicly-available market data and information to gain insight into U.S. renewable energy markets and improve their company's strategy, business development, marketing and sales decisions. The tutorial will be 90 minutes, starting at 11:00 am Pacific / 2:00 pm Eastern.

Tutorial instructors include solar market experts Larry Sherwood and Jon Guice. Mr. Sherwood is widely known as the author of the authoritative annual report, U.S. Solar Market Trends published by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), which is used for U.S. Department of Energy and International Energy Agency reports on U.S. solar installations. He has nearly 30 years of experience in renewable energy, currently as president of Sherwood Associates. Mr. Sherwood is also Project Administrator for the Solar America Board for Codes and Standards, Executive Director of the Small Wind Certification Council, Editor of the IREC Small Wind Newsletter, and former Executive Director of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES).

Jon Guice is Managing Director of Research at AltaTerra Research. He works with market research clients in renewable energy ranging from startups and government agencies to large, established players in the global market. Dr. Guice has a doctorate and master's degree focused on qualitative and quantitative social science methods from the University of California, San Diego science and technology studies program. He has spoken and published widely on global industry trends, research management and product innovation.

"Because the (solar) industry is still immature, information sources are widely dispersed and vary in quality and content," said Guice. "We designed this tutorial to help companies navigate available information, make sense of it, and put it to use."

This online tutorial is designed for renewable energy executives, business development professionals, market intelligence and marketing managers, product and brand managers, and anyone else involved in market research.
