World Television's Climate Change Portal Delivers Results for Clients

World Television, the leading video communications agency for corporations and governments, is delighted to report on the success of its recently launched video news portal, climatetalks.tv.

Following extensive media interest in footage published on climatetalks.tv around COP15, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, the website is now well-established as the foremost online video news source for stories on climate change.

Since its inception, over 250 journalists have registered to gain access to video and multimedia content relating to the debate. Key non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) received thousands of previews and hundreds of downloads of content posted to the portal.

Martin Atkin, Director of External Relations at WWF International says, "In an ever-expanding media environment it's important to be able to reach as many on-and off-line news channels as possible - climatetalks.tv enabled WWF to deliver video coverage from COP15 to a wide variety of clients in a timely and efficient manner."

IISD's Director of Communications Javed Ahmad states: "Our subscription to climatetalks.tv enabled us to cut through and soar above the intense jostling for attention that characterised the Copenhagen event.

"Given the range of experts we deployed at COP15 and the range of issues we addressed there, climatetalks.tv proved an efficient and cost-effective means to broadcast a series of concise, targeted, thematic interview clips to a wide and diverse audience. We are delighted by the short-term impacts of this joint venture and envisage further cooperation with World Television in the future."

Climatetalks.tv (see http://www.climatetalks.tv) is the only online portal dedicated to delivering news on climate change to broadcast, print and online journalists worldwide. It was developed in September 2009 to support the media's stories around COP15, held in Copenhagen 7-18 December. Video footage and other multimedia assets - such as shot-lists, hi-res images, PDFs and Word documents - from a variety of NGOs are available for preview and download through the site, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Climatetalks.tv connected a wide range of global organisations' video news content to the media in the lead up to COP15 and beyond," says Kevin Christoffersen, Executive Producer at World Television. "Thanks to climatetalks.tv hundreds of registered journalists were able to download compelling broadcast video, pushing the climate change agenda even further into the public spotlight."

Content will continue to be made available on climatetalks.tv as it becomes critical for world leaders to agree on an official response to climate change. Organisations interested in participating in the global debate by making their videos available on climatetalks.tv can email climatetalks@world-television.com.
