CH2M HILL, a global full-service consulting, design, construction, and operations firm, and its employees have contributed more than US$302,000 to Red Cross and RedR organizations globally in support of Haiti relief efforts. CH2M HILL is matching employee contributions 100 percent through February 5. As of January 29, employees had donated $151,000.

"It is inspiring to witness the outpouring of support from our professionals all around the world," said Community Investment Director Patty Keck. "In cities such as Buenos Aires, Toronto, Sydney, London, Shanghai, Abu Dhabi and Atlanta, employees are generously donating funds to assist with immediate needs for food, water and shelter."

In addition to financial donations, CH2M HILL is committed to providing long-term support of recovery and reconstruction efforts.

"It makes sense to tap into our core competencies in water, sanitation, structural assessments and other areas to lend the talents and skills of our people to helping rebuild Haiti," said Keck.

Following the 2005 tsunami, CH2M HILL mobilized to operate a portable water treatment unit in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, which provided water to 70,000 people including 200 children at a nearby orphanage. Working with the U.S. Agency for International Development, CH2M HILL served as the program manager for the Tsunami Reconstruction Program in Sri Lanka to rebuild a bridge and fishing harbors, provide clean water, construct schools, and train the local workforce to help the community build back stronger.

In addition to Haiti, CH2M HILL has supported Red Cross relief efforts for the 2008 China earthquake, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and disaster response efforts following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
