ConEdison Solutions, a leading energy services company that provides competitive power supply, renewable energy, sustainability services, and cost-effective energy solutions for commercial, industrial, residential, and government customers, has chosen to publish a case study of work done with The Pennsylvania State University on ClimateNeutralCampus.com
ClimateNeutralCampus.com is a destination for institutions that want to learn, share and adopt best practices in their effort to become climate neutral. Content for the site, and the Climate Neutral Campus Report, was produced with the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) to help all colleges and universities accelerate the movement toward climate neutrality.
ClimateNeutralCampus.com contains white papers, interviews and case studies describing a variety of practices and activities that colleges and universities across the country have implemented in order to move towards their goal of becoming climate neutral.
"The Climate Neutral Campus Report is an effective way for us to showcase our solutions with a broad range of thought leaders. Sharing our experience can help other institutions understand and develop their own action plans" said Mike Perna, Vice President Business Development. "We have been able to put our expertise in context and demonstrated how ConEdison Solutions has helped signatory schools and other institutions reduce their carbon footprint."
Additional contributors to CarbonNeutralCampus.com include Hunter Lovins, president and founder of Natural Capitalism, Inc., Gil Friend, president and CEO of Natural Logic, Inc., Doug Gatlin, vice president for market development for the U.S. Green Building Council and Ray C. Anderson founder and chairman, Interface, Inc, and Mary S. Spangler, chancellor of the Houston Community College.
About the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment
Launched in 2007, the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment is a network of more than 650 signatory schools, representing all fifty states and the District of Columbia. This high-visibility effort to address global warming garners institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth's climate. The ACUPCC is led by a Steering Committee comprised of 22 university and college presidents, led by three co-chairs: Michael M. Crow, President of Arizona State University; Mary Spangler, Chancellor of Houston Community College; and David E. Shi, President of Furman University. The lead supporting organization of the initiative is the national non-profit Second Nature, in partnership with the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
