Go Green Expo, an interactive event known for reaching tens of thousands of people across the country each year with its forum for increasing awareness about environmental challenges, green products and the many ways to go and be green, announces today the addition of Minneapolis to its cross-country tour. Minneapolis joins four other cities around the country already visited this year including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City and Atlanta, where Minnesotan businesses and area residents will have the opportunity to see the latest in green at the Minneapolis Expo Center November 6-8, 2009.

The three day, information-packed event will feature the latest in energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly products and services, interactive seminars and speeches on the growing green revolution from leaders in green business, local politicians and community environmental organizations. Minneapolis' CBS Station WCCO-TV, the Star Tribune and LivGREEN Magazine have signed on as media partners for the Twin Cities' inaugural event to help raise awareness for the importance of thinking and living sustainably among the people of Minnesota.

"Minneapolis is ranked as one of the 'greenest' cities in the United States by National Geographic Society's Green Guide, and it was the next natural destination to add to our growing itinerary of shows across the country," said Bradford Rand, CEO and Founder of Go Green Expo. "We are looking forward to hosting a great show that will reach a vibrant and active green community."

Expo attendees will have the opportunity to explore numerous areas of interest suitable for both everyday living and business including: Business & Electronics; Energy, Conservation & Recycling; Food & Beverage; Health, Beauty & Fashion, Home & Building, Media, Education & Careers, and Travel & Transportation. Both local businesses and national organizations will be present, bringing together people of all shades of green from the savviest environmentalist to the newly green.

WCCO TV, a CBS owned and operated station, has joined forces with Go Green Expo to spread the word about the event as part of the station’s larger mission to empower the community. Leveraging the station's news franchise, PROJECT Energy, WCCO will use Go Green Expo as an opportunity to expand upon their already extensive focus on the future of energy. The Star Tribune, one of the nation's top 20 largest newspapers and an industry leader in implementing environmentally responsible programs, is pleased to support the efforts of Go Green Expo in reaching the Minneapolis/St. Paul area with their message of greener living.

Business professionals from all industries are invited to attend Go Green Expo's business-to-business day with complimentary admission on Friday, November 6, to encourage more organizations to incorporate the use of earth-friendly products, services and ideas into the workplace. Go Green Expo will open its doors on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8, to the public at 10am. Tickets cost $10 for a full weekend pass, $5 for students and seniors with proper ID, and free for children 12 and younger.

Committed to Green:
In an effort to make every aspect of the show as green as possible, Go Green Expo has enlisted Brighter Planet to calculate the event's electricity usage, on-site fuel use, staff travel, event vehicles, waste disposal and attendee travel, and then offset their carbon emissions for a completely carbon neutral show. The Go Green Expo National Tour will boast the latest in green design and function, supported by Metropolitan Exposition Services and Printing Responsibly, such as: 100% compostable and biodegradable table top coverings, recycled material booth ID signs, biodegradable banner material, soy and water based inks and a waste management program that takes environmental and social ramifications into account by utilizing local donation programs.
