HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc., provider of the WeatherTRAK® Smart Water Management solution, today announced that the company will be at the 2009 League of California Cities Conference and Expo on Sept. 16-18 to discuss municipal Smart Water Management strategies. HydroPoint will be in booth 714 showcasing how the WeatherTRAK Smart Water Management solution protects urban water supplies, advances urban conservation measures and water window compliance and eases budget strains from rising water costs with rapid return on investment.
Fifty-eight percent of California's urban water supply is used for outdoor irrigation and landscapes, and 30 to 300 percent of that is wasted water. Additionally, water-focused legislation such as AB 1881 or proposed legislation in AB 2 increase pressure on municipalities to adopt water management strategies that best manage urban water supplies used for residential, multifamily or commercial properties.
HydroPoint's WeatherTRAK enables municipalities to effectively address water efficiency mandates and comply with AB 1881's landscape irrigation equipment performance standards as will be laid out by the California Energy Commission. Using information from 40,000 weather stations, WeatherTRAK saves cities and counties water, money and time by automatically irrigating based on individual landscape needs and local weather conditions to eliminate overwatering and reduce municipal property damage.
"California cities deal with some of the most complicated water issues in the nation which put our water supply under greater stress each passing year," said Sharon Thompson, vice president of marketing for HydroPoint. "By applying Smart Water Management strategies, cities and counties conserve our most precious resource and work to overcome dwindling water supplies, runoff pollution and even budget shortfalls."
HydroPoint will showcase the benefits of WeatherTRAK at the League of California Cities 111th Annual Conference taking place Sept. 16-18, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose. "Strong Cities, Strong State, Strong Nation" is the theme of the three-day event, where 1,400 local government delegates from California's cities gather to exchange information and learn new ways to plan for and solve the critical issues faced by California cities.
