Rx4good, New Service Helps Connect Non-Profits and Private Healthcare Sector for Greater Patient Impact

This week, a new online service, www.rx4good.com, will begin offering regional, grassroots and national healthcare non-profit organizations greater opportunities for exposure within the private sector. The service will help healthcare companies and causes to increase the impact of existing and future programs on patients and better demonstrate the benefits of these programs.

"Because there are limited corporate dollars to support non-profit patient campaigns today, corporations are seeking to fund the organizations and efforts that offer the most substantive value to patients," said Ann Moravick, president of Rx4good. "We work with industry to determine their philanthropic goals and seek non-profit groups as partners to help meet these goals." Moravick has 20 years experience matching non-profits and healthcare clients. "In vying for sponsorships, non-profits must now show tangible evidence of their impact on patients in language that appeals to corporate America, a task that can be challenging to even the most successful non-profit groups," she adds.

For the first time, causes that have "evidence-based" communications approaches can register their cause on www.rx4good.com at no charge. Rx4good will ensure that appropriate programs and groups gain direct visibility with companies, and will also feature organizations and their programs on a "Causes of the Month" page on the website. A "Cause Catalyst" blog on Rx4good.com will share best practices in advancing patient education and motivation.

"We will also provide a forum for matching non-profits with other non-profits who are undertaking similar initiatives," said Moravick. "For example, Future Care Planning Services of Monroe County, NY, featured this month on our site, has been offering its consulting services to non-profits in different regions of the country who are interested in developing their own programs. In a tough economy, this kind of information sharing increases the overall return on patient impact(TM) of existing programs and is crucial."

Causes and programs will be evaluated through a proprietary measure called Return on Patient Impact (ROPI(TM)). Return on Patient Impact (ROPI(TM)) is a measurement process developed by Rx4good that helps organizations demonstrate the value of their programs by taking into account the costs associated with program development and execution, the numbers of patients reached, and the actions patients take as a result of a campaign.

Rx4good provides the following services to non-profits and healthcare companies:

  • Evaluation: Rx4good helps non-profit advocacy organizations and companies evaluate their current Return on Patient Impact (ROPI(TM)) and develop strategies for increasing their ROPI(TM).
  • Matching: Rx4good helps non-profits target their funding requests to the most strategically appropriate companies. Rx4good also matches causes with companies around specific educational goals and recommends communications strategies that will have the greatest positive impact on patients.
  • Ensuring Success: Rx4good helps to manage the relationship between a cause and a company to ensure the relationship provides a win-win-win for patients, cause and company.

Rx4good donates a percentage of annual revenues to evidence-based causes that are making a difference for patients. Ann Moravick, president of Rx4good has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years and is passionate about the need for partnership between non-profits and industry to better patient care.
