Kyoto Publishing announced today the launch of the ClimateNeutralCampus.com web site. The site, with the Climate Neutral Campus Report, were produced for the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) and Second Nature.

The web site contains white paper and case studies describing a variety of practices and activities that colleges and universities across the country have implemented in order to move towards their goal of becoming climate neutral.

"Working with the ACUPCC and Second Nature, we have been able to bring together a broad range of voices that provide insight and examples for all institutions of higher learning that are concerned with sustainability and climate neutrality," said Nick Smith, CEO and publisher at Kyoto Publishing. We have been very fortunate to work with thought leaders in this community such as David Orr of Oberlin College, Mitchell Thomashow, president of Unity College and Walter Simpson who lead the Green Office at the University at Buffalo."

Additional contributors include Hunter Lovins, president and founder of Natural Capitalism, Inc., Mona Amodeo, Ph.D., founder and president of idgroup Consulting and Creative, Gil Friend, president and CEO of Natural Logic, Inc., Doug Gatlin, vice president for market development for the U.S. Green Building Council and Ray C. Anderson founder and chairman, Interface, Inc.

Kyoto Publishing would like to acknowledge the participation of the following sponsors who were instrumental in the success of the report and the web site: ARAMARK, BAR Architects, BP Solar, Chartwells, Con Edison Solutions, Faronics, Honeywell, Infor, Mac-Gray, Motorola, NewPage, Siemens, TAC by Schneider Electric, TÜV SÜD, UniSource, and VMware.

About the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment
Launched in 2007, the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment is a network of 650 signatory schools, representing all fifty states and the District of Columbia. This high-visibility effort to address global warming garners institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth's climate. The ACUPCC is led by a Steering Committee comprised of more than 20 university and college presidents, including three co-chairs: Michael Crow, President of Arizona State University; Mary Spangler, Chancellor of Houston Community College; and David Shi, President of Furman University. The lead supporting organization of the initiative is the national nonprofit Second Nature, based in Boston. For more information, visit www.presidentsclimatecommitment.org.
