Minneapolis, MN---June 18, 2009---Now compliance and ethics professionals have an opportunity to demonstrate their advanced knowledge and expertise in the practice of corporate compliance and ethics with the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-Fellow certification program announced today by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and the Compliance Certification Board (CCB). The CCB has certified more than 2,600 compliance professionals since its founding 10 years ago.

"As the compliance and ethics profession matures and standards for ethics and compliance keep rising the SCCE and CCB have developed the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-Fellow (CCEP-Fellow) advanced level of professional certification to meet the new, higher level of expectations for industry professionals," explains Roy Snell, Chief Executive Officer, SCCE.

This advanced certification is designed to help compliance and ethics professionals demonstrate mastery of the elements that make for an effective compliance and ethics program and to raise the standards of the compliance and ethics profession. "It was developed using the input and hands-on involvement of a committee of highly experienced compliance and ethics professionals," explained Snell.

Applications for the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-Fellow (CCEP-Fellow) certification will be accepted beginning in September 2009. Since the application process requires several documents as well as references, the announcement is being made now to enable candidates time to collect their application materials and have them ready by September. Complete details are available in the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional-Fellow Candidate Handbook: http://www.corporatecompliance.org/staticcontent/CCEPFellowHandbook.pdf

In September 2006, the SCCE made history when it established the CCEP [Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional] certification exam. At that time it was the first all-industry certification for compliance and ethics professionals. "More than 600 people have obtained the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) designation since it became available in September 2006," said Roy Snell, "demonstrating both the need of compliance and ethics professionals for credentials, as well as the market's widespread acceptance of the CCEP designation."
