NEW YORK, NY- March 7, 2007 - Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that it has been named one of FORTUNE Magazine’s 2007 Most Admired Companies in the publication’s annual ranking. Only the best are listed as most admired, and Alcoa has been named to the top admired ranking for 24 years in a row. In 2005, Alcoa was inducted into the publication’s Hall of Fame list, for its consistent high performance in the magazine’s rankings.
For its survey of 616 companies in 68 industries, FORTUNE asked more than 16,000 industry executives, directors and securities analysts to rank companies on key attributes. Alcoa maintained its high rankings on social responsibility, financial soundness, innovation and quality of products/services.
Other recent awards that Alcoa has attained include recognition as a top role model in sustainable business practices when named one of the most sustainable corporations in the world for three years in a row at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
