OMAHA, Neb. - This Thanksgiving, 12 participating ConAgra Foods brands are launching a major national promotion to celebrate the true spirit of the season by working to eliminate child hunger. Participating brands include Butterball®, PAM®, Swiss Miss®, Reddi-wip®, Wesson®, Armour® Brown 'N Serve&trade, Fleischmann's®, Inland Valley®, Marie Callender's®, Peter Pan® and Ro*Tel®.

On November 9, 2003, look for a four-page ad in 45 million newspapers across the country featuring numerous coupons for participating ConAgra Foods brands. For every coupon redeemed, ConAgra Foods will donate $.05 to its Feeding Children Better Foundation -- the largest corporate initiative dedicated solely to fighting child hunger in America.

There is no limit on the total donation, and 100% will go directly toward providing hungry children with meals at Kids Cafes nationwide. The ConAgra Foods Feeding Children Better Foundation is the national sponsor of Kids Cafe, a program of America's Second Harvest, and the nation's largest kids-only after-school meal program, providing free, hot nutritious meals to hungry children in safe environments.

Feeding Children Better is an innovative partnership between ConAgra Foods and America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization. "ConAgra Foods' commitment is an investment in the future. Hunger is a critical issue in the United States and steps such as these will ensure that no child grows up hungry," says Robert H. Forney, president and chief executive officer of America's Second Harvest.

"Through our Feeding Children Better initiative, we have funded more than 130 new Kids Cafes to date," said Lynn Phares, president of the ConAgra Foods Feeding Children Better Foundation. "Collectively, those cafes serve hungry children more than 1 million meals per year. We expect this holiday promotion will provide food for many of those meals in the months ahead."

Increasing the number of children fed is an especially important task at a time when one in every five children in the United States faces hunger(1). In fact, according to the United States Department of Agriculture, 13 million kids live in households that do not have an adequate supply of food.

The four-page ConAgra Foods newspaper ad will also include an offer for a free Memorable Holiday Entertaining Recipe Book. The 100-page recipe book will contain everything consumers need to make the season memorable ... from dinners to desserts, and tips to traditions.

Both the memorable holiday ad and the recipe book will feature holiday essentials like Butterball Turkey; Butterball Stuffing, Broth and Gravy; PAM® Cooking Spray; Swiss Miss® Hot Cocoa; Reddi-wip® Whipped Cream and Wesson® Oil.
