IKON Office Solutions (NYSE: IKN) today announced the Company's Law Department received the Minority Corporate Counsel Association's Diversity 2000 Award for excellence in the promotion of diversity in the legal community. The award was presented to IKON at the MCCA/American Lawyer Media Diversity 2000 Award Dinner on June 7 in Washington D.C. Past Diversity 2000 award recipients include Fannie Mae, Marriott International and Mobil.

"At IKON, we are focused on promoting diversity not just in the Law Department, but throughout the company with initiatives such as our recently-formed Diversity Council. The MCCA's Diversity 2000 Award honors corporate law departments that demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity by implementing successful diversity initiatives, and provides regional and national recognition to progressive legal departments.

Liu is also active in promoting diversity in the legal community as a whole. He serves on several diversity committees, including the American Bar Association's Commission on Opportunities for Minorities in the Profession, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Liu frequently speaks at public meetings on issues of diversity.

Established in 1996, MCCA is an advocate for expanded hiring and promotion of minority attorneys by corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them. Through its many activities, MCCA is dedicated to broadening awareness of the business value of diversity, showing how successful diversity efforts breed success in corporate business. The organization publishes, jointly with American Lawyer Media's Diversity Publishing Group, Diversity & the Bar, a quarterly magazine distributed as insert to Corporate Counsel Magazine to 40,000 members of the legal community.
