CLEVELAND, OH - March 27, 2007 - University Hospitals Case Medical Center is undergoing a fundraising effort to help defray the medical costs to the Dogaru family for the series of operations to separate their 3-year-old conjoined twins, Anastasia and Tatiana, coming to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital next month.

The twins are joined at the head/brain and share kidneys. Their separation will require a series of operations over the course of several months. The surgeons involved are donating their time; however, the additional medical costs will be extensive, reaching into the millions.

UH is accepting donations online at www.rainbowbabies.org/twins or by phone at 216-844-1600 or toll free, 866-574-TWIN (8946) and selecting option 2. Checks made payable to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Special Fund may be submitted to any KeyBank branch nationwide or mailed to P.O. Box 74617, Cleveland, Ohio 44194-4617.

Any funds raised that are not applied to the Dogaru twins’ surgery will benefit other children undergoing complex neurological and craniofacial procedures.
