2,600 KeyCorp Employees To Work on 'Neighbors Make The Difference Day' Volunteer Projects in Cleveland

CLEVELAND -- More than 300 Cleveland-area community projects will benefit from the volunteer services of some 2,600 Key employees on Thursday, September 14. Some Key facilities will close early that day so that employees may participate in this annual community service day.
Three Cleveland projects are of particular note:
Distance Learning Project. Key's volunteer technology experts will
gather at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), then travel to 15
Cleveland schools to coach teachers and administrators on the use of
distance learning in the classroom. Other Key employees will form a
"help desk" located at CIM. During the afternoon, CIM will broadcast a
sample lesson, integrating math and music, to the 15 schools.
anniversary, WSEM is celebrating "Forty Days of Giving." Key's gift is
a group of volunteers who will make repairs to the home of a WSEM
client.
Wendy Park Foundation, will spend the afternoon cleaning up the park's
beach and surrounding area.

Nationwide, more than 7,000 employees of KeyCorp, will engage in the company's 17th annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day. Key staff will spend approximately 28,000 hours volunteering for a wide array of community service projects in neighborhoods from Maine to Alaska.
Neighbors Make the Difference Day
KeyBank established Neighbors Make the Difference Day in 1990 as a beach clean up project among its employees in Alaska. In 1993, KeyCorp rolled out Neighbor's Day nationally as a means of enhancing the quality of life in communities where its 20,000 employees live and work. While most KeyBank branches close at noon on Neighbors Make the Difference Day, certain locations will remain open.
