DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2006--Office Depot (NYSE:ODP), a leading global provider of office products and services, today announced its sponsorship of a new Habitat for Humanity house to be built in Delray Beach. The home, scheduled to be complete by April 2007, will accommodate South Florida resident Dora Shiver and her four children.

Office Depot and Habitat for Humanity International's South Palm Beach Chapter celebrated the start of the building process with a groundbreaking ceremony today. With an expected five-month construction period, Shiver, Habitat for Humanity volunteers, and Office Depot associates will put in hundreds of hours working together to finish the house.
"This home that Office Depot and Habitat for Humanity are building for my family is a dream come true," said Shiver, who works for Unimed Health Systems in Deerfield Beach. "My children and I are very thankful and excited that in a short while we will be moving into our very own home. We feel very lucky to have such caring friends at Office Depot and Habitat for Humanity."
The Shiver home is the second Habitat for Humanity project that Office Depot has supported in South Florida. The Company helped build a house for the Tawale family in Boynton Beach in 2004.
