SPOKANE, WA - Potlatch Corporation (NYSE: PCH), today announced that it will match its employees' contributions to certain agencies and charities providing aid to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

Potlatch Chairman and Chief Executive Officer L. Pendleton Siegel said the company will match, dollar-for-dollar, employee contributions up to a cumulative $1500 per employee and spouse between December 26, 2004, and June 30, 2005. To facilitate contributions, the company will match donations to any of the organizations listed on the Freedom Corps website, at www.usafreedomcorps.gov. The company match, which will be directed mostly to long-term rehabilitation, will be calculated monthly and distributed to aid agencies providing rehabilitation and relief services to the victims.

"Our employees have opened the hearts and wallets and the matching program will allow them to double their impact and stretch it out over time," Siegel said. He added that an effort would be made to coordinate the company's match with the fund-raising effort headed by former Presidents Bush and Clinton.
