For the fourth year in a row, Rockwell (NYSE: ROK) has been selected by Working Mother Magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies in America for Working Mothers”. Rockwell is the only company in Wisconsin to make this year’s list. The list will be published in the magazine’s October issue.
“We are honored, once again, to be recognized for having a work environment that is supportive of women and families,” said Don H. Davis, Rockwell chairman and CEO. “A company is only as strong as the performance of its people and we are constantly striving to understand and appreciate the needs of all our employees, including working mothers. Our employees provide the competitive edge that will drive Rockwell to achieve its vision of growth and operational excellence,” he added.
Working Mother chose 2000’s “100 Best Companies” based on six criteria: child care, leave for new parents, flexible work arrangements, work/life benefits such as elder care and adoption assistance, and opportunities for women to advance. Editors also looked at a range of supportive company offerings, including health insurance premiums, availability of time off to care for sick children, mentoring programs and extras such as on-site gyms and other conveniences.
Rockwell is a $7 billion electronic controls and communications company with global leadership positions in industrial automation, avionics and communications, and electronic commerce. The company employs approximately 40,000 people at more than 450 locations serving customers in more than 80 countries.
