HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) has become the first among the 30 members of the Dow Jones Industrial Average to publish a fully integrated annual and corporate responsibility report.

UTC Annual Report: 2008 Financial and Corporate Responsibility Performance, titled "More with less," is now available in print and online at www.UTC.com.

2008 Environmental Highlights:
UTC's current and most ambitious EH&S goals were launched on Jan. 1, 2007.  These targets include a 10 percent water reduction and a 12 percent greenhouse gas reduction by Dec. 31, 2010.  As of Dec. 31, 2008, UTC achieved 11 percent reductions on both metrics, surpassing the water goal two years ahead of schedule.  UTC will continue to aggressively identify and implement further reductions.  Longer term, UTC reduced base energy use by 22 percent and water use by 50 percent since 1997 while doubling its revenues.

2008 Social Highlights:
In 2008, UTC’s Code of Ethics was amended to include a policy on citizenship and human rights to reaffirm UTC's commitment to corporate responsibility.
