NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 21, 2006--MicroEdge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, is pleased to announce that Peter Byer has been promoted to vice president of sales.

Mr. Byer has over 20 years of management, marketing and sales experience in technology. In the past year at MicroEdge, Mr. Byer, who held the position of director of sales, led his team to its best and most profitable sales revenue year in the company's 20 year history.
Under his leadership, MicroEdge has become the established leader for providing software solutions for effective giving worldwide.

As vice president, Mr. Byer has total responsibility for the overall direction of MicroEdge sales execution worldwide for all products and services. Mr. Byer will continue to focus on working with MicroEdge clients to further understand the needs of the charitable giving market. This knowledge will help MicroEdge build and deliver products that help private foundations, community foundations, educational endowment foundations, corporate giving organizations and state and local governments, sustain their commitments to their constituencies.
