SANTA BARBARA, California - Big Dog Sportswear is proud to announce the return of what has become a Santa Barbara tradition, the 8th Annual Big Dog Parade and Canine Festival. On Saturday, June 1, over 1,500 dogs and 2,000 participants, most dressed in zany and creative costumes, will parade from De La Guerra Plaza, down State Street and into the Old Chase Palm Park at the beautiful waterfront. Dogs, groups, floats and marching bands, along with over 20,000 spectators, will make this year's event bigger and better than ever.
At the end of the parade, participants and spectators will enjoy a fun, sun-filled day at the Canine Festival. You and your canine companion will enjoy live music, games, prizes, exhibits and much more well into the mid-afternoon.
The Big Dog Foundation benefits from the Big Dog Parade and Canine Festival and was able to help more friends than ever before based on the success of the 7th annual event. Last year's event raised $50,000 for the charities of the Big Dog Foundation. The non-profit organization supports charities that help dogs, children and dogs helping people. The Big Dog Parade and Canine Festival is the Foundation's largest fundraiser and 100% of the donations go directly to the recipients, which include the Kids Cancer Network, National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, Dog Adoption Welfare Group, Olive Crest, and other charitable organizations.
