Survey to look at “State of Corporate Citizenship”

Chestnut Hill, MA… The Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Corporate Citizenship have begun an unprecedented research project to provide a broader understanding of the role businesses play in their communities.

Over the past year, the media were filled with stories of both the best and worst of business practices--from the instant outpouring of generous corporate support after 9/11 to the Enron and Tyco scandals. Neither shows the whole picture.

The first national survey on the State of Corporate Citizenship is designed to create a scientific baseline that will help businesses, community leaders, policymakers and the public understand the motivations, capabilities, obstacles, and expectations behind corporate citizenship.

Small and medium-sized companies in the U.S. and around the world are invited to complete the survey, which takes approximately 20 minutes.

There are three ways to complete the survey:
- Online at http://websurveyor.net/wsb.dll/5294/stateofcc.htm.
- Download a pdf at http://www.bc.edu/corporatecitizenship and fax it to 617.552.8499

- Receive a hard copy via mail or fax by calling 202.463.5517 or 617.552.4545.

Deadline for receipt of completed surveys is December 23, 2002.
