SAN FRANCISCO – Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) today announced two corporate trainings it will conduct in New York on July 22 and July 23, as part of an ongoing series.

Stakeholder Engagement Training: Charting the Corporate Course
New York - July 22

This interactive full-day training will explore the business case, terminology and decision-making steps involved in successful stakeholder engagement.

Participants will investigate fundamental techniques, analyze case studies and profile current best practice to discover how stakeholder engagement can help companies increase transparency, maintain their license to operate, and improve business planning, decision-making and execution. Participants will also apply stakeholder engagement strategies and practices to their own companies and receive feedback from peers.

Delivered through BSR’s partnership with London-based AccountAbility, this training provides a strong foundation for championing stakeholder engagement within an organization as well as a roadmap of the tools and applications used to initiate a successful program.

This training will also being offered in September 24, 2003 in Chicago and November 11, 2003 in Los Angeles at the BSR Annual Conference.

Supply Chain Management: Identifying and Implementing Social and Environmental Responsibility
New York – July 23

This full-day training provides guidance to corporate managers responsible for developing social and environmental policies and implementation strategies for their supply chain partners.

Participants will explore emerging issues and drivers arising from stakeholder groups and will review best practices, codes of conduct, and implementation steps involved in establishing a CSR supply chain program. Using case studies and lessons learned from companies and industries that have implemented responsible supply chain practices, participants receive practical guidance on identifying risks and priorities, communicating with business partners, and implementing a CSR program for the supply chain.
