BEVERLY HILLS, California - Synergy Performance, Inc. (SPI), a Los Angeles-based company that specializes in enhancing the performance of sports teams and athletes through its line of advanced coaching and training products and materials, is teaming up with Organs For Life Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the unmet need for organ and tissue donors, to co-sponsor the Mercedes-Benz Cup men's professional tennis tournament. The two organizations will host a booth at the weeklong tournament, taking place at the Los Angeles Tennis Center at UCLA July 22-28, 2002.

SPI will provide tournament spectators and participants with samples of its initial product offering, the Tennis Sports Guide(TM) -- a "map-like" handbook that provides fun facts and expert information on tennis from an insider's perspective. SPI's Sports Guides(TM) utilize a clear, user-friendly format to bring fans and players up to speed on how to enjoy and understand major sports. The Tennis Sports Guide(TM) will be offered free with a minimum $1 donation to Organs For Life. Organ donor cards will also be available for tournament attendees to take with them.

Guests of the booth will also have the opportunity to watch excerpts from "Organs For Life," a monthly cable television program airing to two million Southern California viewers, featuring the true-life stories of organ transplant recipients. Show host Jerry Reilly, founder of Organs For Life and a liver-transplant recipient, will be on hand to greet attendees, along with other transplant recipients who are eager to share their stories.

"Synergy Performance is a perfect partner for us -- our two organizations share a passion for life, and appreciate the importance of athletics in expressing this passion," said Reilly, who sees his organization's involvement in the Mercedes-Benz Cup and co-sponsorship with SPI as particularly timely and relevant, following his involvement in the United States Transplant Games in Orlando, Florida last month. Modeled after the Olympics, the event gives transplant recipients the opportunity to test their athletic skill and endurance like any other athlete.

"The miracle of transplantation is that it not only saves the recipients' lives, but inspires them to live more fully, and achieve beyond what they or others thought possible," said Reilly. "After seeing the Transplant Games, I believe it's entirely possible that a transplant recipient could win this tournament some day."

"Synergy Performance is about taking athletic performance to the highest level, and fundamental to this mission is an appreciation for human vitality and what we can accomplish with it when we aspire to transcend limitation and excel," said Michael Mische, chief executive officer of Synergy Performance, Inc. "We hope to play a small part in Organs For Life's quest to help more transplant patients get the second chances at life that they deserve so that they can continue to reach for their personal bests."

Currently, the number of transplant candidates in the United States far exceeds the number of donors. Last year, the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services reported that fifteen Americans die each day while waiting for an organ to become available. More than 75,000 men, women, and children now wait for a transplant to replace a failing kidney, heart, liver, lung or pancreas. Every 16 minutes, another person joins the waiting list.

With enough dollars raised, Organs For Life Foundation will produce its series on a national cable network, and aid low-income children in need of organ transplants by helping them find donor matches and paying for the transplantation procedures. The organization's ultimate goal is to raise enough awareness to eliminate the list of transplant candidates waiting for an organ or tissue donor.

Organs For Life Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives through increasing public awareness of the enormous need for donated organs for transplantation. Established in 2000, the foundation's focus and main medium of communication is "Organs For Life," a monthly half-hour television program airing to an audience of two million viewers on the Adelphia cable network.
