MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) expects close to 1,000 health care compliance professionals from across the country to convene at the HCCAs Annual Compliance Institute in New Orleans on April 27-30, 2003 at the Sheraton New Orleans. The HCCA Compliance Institute, which offers 127 speakers, 60 sessions, and 10 health care industry immersion session over four days, promises to be the health care industry's most comprehensive compliance-related conference in 2003. For the first time, the HCCA will offer Industry Immersion session to address the various segments of the health care industry. Conference chair and HCCA Secretary Dan Roach, Vice President, Compliance and Audit, Catholic Healthcare West, explains "The program general sessions are designed to add substantive value to the program -- not merely entertainment. With 127 speakers, this is the most comprehensive conference we have ever had. During every period which includes breakout sessions, participants will be able to choose between at least two compliance and two HIPAA breakout sessions, ensuring that participants derive maximum value from the conference."

February registrants receive two HIPAA Forum CD videos: "HIPAA 101", a CD video of a session led by Debbie Troklus, Assistant Vice President, Compliance/HIPAA for the University of Louisville and F. Lisa Murtha, Vice President of Audit and Compliance, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. And "HIPAA Auditing and Monitoring" with presentation by Sheryl Vacca, Director, Deloitte & Touche, and Suzie Draper, Corporate Compliance/Privacy Officer, IHC.

Compliance Institute General Sessions

On Tuesday, April 29 -- "Responding to the Corporate Governance Crisis" a panel discussion moderated by Odell Guyton, Microsoft Corporation Senior Corporate Attorney and Director for Compliance, will feature Industry Leaders John Bigalke, Deloitte & Touche, J. William Tillet, Jr., Ernst & Young, Michael Galper, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Richard Girgenti, KPMG.

Lewis Morris, Chief Counsel to the Inspector General, Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, will present on Monday, April 28 -- "View from the Office of Inspector General," at 8:30 AM. A panel discussion, "Compliance Officer's Role in the Quality Crisis," moderated by F. Lisa Murtha, Vice President of Audit and Compliance, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, will follow Lewis Morris. Panelists will include:

representative, office of HIPAA Standard.
