WASHINGTON, DC - The deadline for the 2003 Corporate Citizenship Awards nominations is October 3.

Presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Center for Corporate Citizenship, these awards recognize excellence in corporate citizenship and celebrate the many ways that business contributes to social and economic development.

This year there are two award categories for companies to compete in:

  • Citizenship in Action, and

  • Corporate Stewardship.

Citizenship in Action focuses on a particular action or set of circumstances where a company has had to take extraordinary actions to serve its customers, investors, employees, and/or local community.

The Corporate Stewardship award focuses on companies that have made significant economic and social contributions through the course of their operations or programs.

Secretary of Commerce Don Evans will present the Corporate Stewardship Awards to one small, one medium, and one large company.

The Award Dinner will be held on December 4 in the International Hall of Flags at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. For more information please call (202) 463-5313, email ccc@uschamber.com or visit www.uschamber.com/ccc/citizenship/award.htm.
