Herman Miller Office Seating Earns GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification

ATLANTA, GA - The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has awarded Herman Miller's office seating GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification for low emitting products. The seating was tested and certified by the GEI to have low chemical emissions that meet or exceed the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Standards. Products certified by the GEI must pass a series of rigorous emissions tests and undergo quarterly monitoring tests to ensure their low emitting status.

GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® furniture and furnishings enable architects and designers achieve points for the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) Program. GREENGUARD tested and certified office furniture is a requirement stated reference for Credit 4.5 in the Indoor Environmental Quality section.

Common interior furnishings and building materials release odorous or potentially irritating contaminants into the indoor environment, which may negatively affect people's health. Products certified by the GEI help to significantly reduce indoor air pollution. Builders, architects, interior designers, specifying professionals, and consumers can use GREENGUARD Certified Products to create better interior environments. The Institute provides a free online guide to GREENGUARD tested and certified products to help those in the building/design industry and consumers locate low emitting products.
