NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2007--LexisNexis Group, a
leading provider of information and services solutions, today announced that it has funded four significant LexisNexis Scholarship packages to the CEELI Institute. The Institute, an international, independent, not-for-profit entity, originally founded by the American Bar Association (ABA), advances the rule of law by supporting the law reform process in Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia and the Middle
East.

The LexisNexis Scholarships, to be awarded annually, will enable judges, lawyers and legal reformers from around the world to attend training classes at the CEELI Institute in Prague, Czech Republic, to prepare them to meet the challenges of democratization in Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States of the Former Soviet Union. Training focal areas include: anti-corruption/public integrity, criminal law reform, combating human trafficking, as well as judicial, legal education and legal profession reform.

"LexisNexis and the CEELI Institute share a common goal--we are both deeply committed to promoting the rule of law," said Andrew Prozes, Chief Executive Officer of LexisNexis Group. "We believe these scholarships will make a difference in the lives of people whose homelands have been severely impacted without the benefits of the rule of law."

"We are grateful to have the generous financial support of LexisNexis," said Michael Diedring, Executive Director of the CEELI Institute. "Their contribution, in addition to providing support to Institute participants and the program itself, will benefit society as a whole."

Since its inception, the CEELI Institute has trained more than 1,000 participants from 31 countries. Institute courses and activities have brought together legal professionals from across the globe to discuss the promotion of free market economies, issues of democratic
reform, and the protection of human rights. Aware of the constantly changing needs in transitioning countries, the CEELI Institute continues to design pragmatic courses and activities, such as its newly developed training in anti-corruption on judicial integrity and public procurement, and standing courses on intellectual property rights, commercial transactions and principles of market economies, themes which LexisNexis scholars will have the opportunity to explore while attending Institute training.
