MINNEAPOLIS, MN - January 23, 2007 - Setting the standard in compliance education, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) announced today it will hold its Spring 2007 Compliance Workshops in Chicago, IL on March 15-16; New York City, NY on March 22-23; Los Angeles, CA on April 12-13; and Dallas, TX on May 17-18.

The SCCE two-day workshops will bring together compliance and business ethics professionals from across the United States and from across various industries to hear from key industry experts and compliance colleagues their perspectives and experience in developing and maintaining effective compliance programs; at the end of each day Roundtable Discussion Groups will take place.

It is a widely accepted fact in today's business environment that compliance programs need to exist, however, the challenge each compliance professional faces is exactly how to maintain those critical programs in an ever-changing regulatory and global environment.

To help answer this need, the SCCE has assembled an accomplished faculty made up of this nation's leading legal, compliance and ethics experts and thought leaders to offer detailed presentations addressing compelling compliance issues including:

  • Compliance Education & Training

  • Conducting Internal Investigations in Light of the Hewlett-Packard Case

  • Conflicts of Interest

    Background on Compliance

Corporate excesses and resulting legislation such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act has spawned a new C-level executive in today's modern corporation -- the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Officer. The corporate compliance officer position is now found in almost every industry, in public and private companies, and in nonprofit organizations. Corporate compliance professionals and ethics and business conduct professionals generally are responsible for developing and overseeing corporate compliance and ethics programs to ensure their organization's compliance with laws and regulations governing their industry.
