The University of Vermont announces registration is now open for Sustainable Business: Practices in Support of People, Profits and Principles on the Burlington campus this summer. This program is a highly interactive, hands-on, applied approach to business featuring both the experiences of the expert practitioner along with dynamic faculty. This approach links theory to practice through the use of case studies highlighting the challenges facing Vermont's leading socially responsible businesses.
This weeklong program runs Monday through Friday, July 9 through 13, 2007.
Participants will learn and apply principles of designing, organizing, and managing based on sustainability. Living case studies will support hands-on learning in order to integrate theory and practice. Leading practitioners and university faculty team-teach the program.

Each luncheon features an expert practitioner and business leader exploring the day’s featured topic. Each evening features a panel of academic experts and community leaders discussing the impact of socially and environmentally responsible business practices.
This interdisciplinary program draws on the unique resources of the University of Vermont including the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics, the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, the School of Business Administration, and the Vermont Business Center. This program features Vermont's most innovative and successful organizations including Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Ben and Jerry's Homemade, Inc., and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.
