FILLONY Limited takes an Environmental Leadership Position by Joining Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree Program

HONK KONG,CHINA - July 7, 2008 - FILLONY announced today that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the leading carbon offset organizations. FILLONY is offsetting its operational emissions and is actively trying to minimize its CO2 footprint. It is also taking steps to encourage its main industrial suppliers in mainland China to review how they can best optimize their energy consumption and reduce wastage. Furthermore, FILLONY is in the process of calculating the CO2 footprints of a range of home appliances, with the aim of offsetting the emissions of their entire product life cycle, including production, transport, consumer usage and recycling. More news on this will follow. These vigorous commitments establish FILLONY as an environmental leader in the consumer electronics and home appliances business and demonstrate the proactive steps FILLONY is taking in the fight against global climate change.

FILLONY's first contribution is allocated to the Paso del Istmo Conservation Corridor in Rivas Province, Nicaragua. This project maintains three broad goals that seek to increase carbon storage while protecting biodiversity and supporting sustainable communities. These goals contribute to Paso Pacífico’s long-term vision of connecting forest ecosystems to form the Paso del Istmo conservation corridor. This corridor will be the first of its kind along the Pacific slope of Central America, and in areas of the endangered tropical dry forest. It is among the first projects in the world to be certified to meet the gold rating of the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards, and will be eligible for CDM/VCS credit as well.

Shipping millions of Chinese made appliances and electrical products yearly, the FILLONY team has become greatly concerned about the significant impact that the production and usage of such appliances may have on global warming. With the increase in global demand, China has become a major source of CO2 emissions. FILLONY strongly believes that all parties, including intermediaries, must play a part and shoulder their responsibilities. If small companies like FILLONY - involved in a very competitive business - can afford the time, money and human resources to do the right thing and take steps to monitor, measure, minimize and offset their emissions and ultimately those related to some of their products, then larger and richer companies should follow suit.

"Success brings responsibilities. At FILLONY, we believe that we have a duty to operate our business in a way which not only benefits all parties, including staff, clients, and suppliers, but we also have an obligation to minimize the strain on our environment," said Francois Vandenheste, Managing Director of FILLONY. "FILLONY is eager to press forward and see that any climate impact induced by our activity or products be mitigated by a corresponding offset and contribution through reforestation projects."

"If every company took responsibility for its carbon footprint the way Fillony is, we'd be that much closer to transitioning to a clean energy economy," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "By joining our CarbonFree Partnerships Program, Fillony stands out as being ahead of the game, and we’re truly excited about to partner with them."
