NEW YORK, NY - April 10, 2008 - New York Dermatology Group (NYDG) announced today that it is offsetting a full year of its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the country’s leading carbon offset organizations. As a CarbonFree Business Partner, NYDG establishes itself as an environmental leader among New York City medical practices and demonstrates the proactive steps it is taking in the fight against global climate change.

NYDG's physicians and staff are very concerned about global warming. The annual carbon footprint of its Manhattan office operations is approximately 210 metric tons of carbon, and NYDG is supporting Carbonfund.org's reforestation projects to offset these emissions. Considering the implications of climate change, carbon offsets through Carbonfund.org are a natural extension of the work NYDG does on behalf of its patients.

"Because NYDG's mission is to promote good health and long life, we believe in trying to minimize the negative environmental impact of our business by supporting carbon offsets," said David Colbert, M.D, Head Physician and Founder of New York Dermatology Group. "We feel that every effort must be made to understand each individual's role in causing and curing the health crisis currently faced by our ailing planet."

"As dermatologists, NYDG witnesses the effects of the environment on our bodies, and as a CarbonFree Business Partner, it understands that we too impact our environment," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "We're pleased to help NYDG protect its patients and the environment."
